Who is Honeyrose Bakery – organic handbaking ?

Honeyrose Bakery has been in business since the year 2000; we are based in London and are a dedicated organic wholesale bakery. We are the home of the finest handbaked totally organic cakes, cookies, muffins, biscotti and a whole range of baked treats, including a line of wheat, gluten and dairy-free products. At Honeyrose Bakery we bake everything by hand with individual care and attention. Honeyrose is a family business, founder-managed by a pastry chef. We bake all our own products from our own bakery in the wilds of London ;-). Proudly British, God Save The Queen.

Where is Honeyrose Bakery ?

We are based in London, UK, in Park Royal, just northwest of central London, about 5 minutes from Notting Hill. From our London bakery we distribute all over the UK and abroad.

Do we have a retail shop you can buy products from or visit ?

Well, we do have an online shop you can visit and buy Honeyrose organic cakes from, but not a physical store (not yet :-). We bake every day in our London bakery, which smells of sugar and spice and everything organic and nice.

Are all our products organic ?

All our Honeyrose brand products are absolutely organic yes ! They are certified organic and all our agricultural ingredients are organically grown. We bake fresh every single day so that you get the freshest tasting product with the longest possible shelf life.

We also have a dedicated gluten-free brand, Kent & Fraser, www.kentandfraser.com which is not organic, but is 100% gluten-free. All Kent & Fraser products are certified gluten-free by Coeliac UK

Do you have Gluten, Wheat, or Dairy-Free products ?

Yes, within our Honeyrose organic brand we have over 20 product combinations that are also either Wheat, Gluten, or Dairy-Free. Some are both Gluten and Dairy Free or Wheat and Dairy-Free.

And of course, within our Kent & Fraser brand, all those products are certified gluten-free www.kentandfraser.com

Food allergy sufferers nirvana ?

This is tough to answer as minute traces of the the food allergens we bake with (wheat, gluten, dairy, nuts, eggs, sesame, soya) could be found in any of our products, either through storage or in mixing and baking. If you are severely allergic please please be aware of that. However we do go through strict precautions to avoid contaminations, and mix, bake and package our Wheat, Gluten or Dairy-Free products in separate batches that are carefully quality monitored.

Our Kent & Fraser brand products are certified gluten-free by Coeliac UK and regularly laboratory tested to below the 20ppm limit, and in fact down to less than 5ppm or “below levels of quantiation” on gluten.

What is shelf life ?

Shelf life is often referred to as “Best Before Date”; all our products will come with a clearly marked “Best Before Date”. As it implies, the product tastes best before that date, and is edible after that date (may not taste great though, so we would not recommend it). Baked products like ours are known as “low risk” in that they are baked fresh and delivered at normal room temperature (“ambient”). There is minimal risk of becoming ill if you eat a product of ours past it’s shelf-life (unlike eating a meat dish past it’s shelf life – oy vey).

Why do you give shelf life in days ?

We want you to know when the product will taste best. Because our products are Honeyrose brand is organic we don’t (we can’t and won’t) put into them any food additives like preservatives, humectants, long shelf life stretchers which would mean adding chemicals. Organic products will by definition not have the longer shelf life that conventional products do because of the food additives. At some point after the shelf life expires the water and organic yeast could create yucky looking green spots – it’s just harmless mould, bin the cakes and order some fresh.

Our Kent & Fraser brand is dedicated gluten-free (not organic), but we make sure not to add anything to our recipes that is not natural; so no food additives or nasties there either.

Can I freeze the organic cakes I order ?

Yes, freeze away. Your order is prepared fresh for you the moment your order  and arrives to you ready to eat. If you get a big order to understandably avoid that *%*&£! delivery fee then you can put some of those tasty organic muffins, loaf cakes, or anything else we bake in your freezer for another day. Just defrost it at room temperature and eat, and don’t freeze it twice, a food no-no.

When can I order ?

You can order 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via our online shop. In fact we dare you to order at 3:34am on a Saturday :-).

How do you deliver ?

That will depend on the shelf life, and whether you are ordering for delivery within the UK or outside the UK. Within the UK, depending on the shelf life limitations we will either deliver by courrier or Royal Mail. We will deliver anywhere in the UK except the remote Scottish Highlands, outlying islands and Northern Ireland. We can deliver worldwide; we will find a way to get your Honeyrose order to you, just may take a bit longer. Please go to our delivery section for more information.

Can I order by phone or fax ?

How do I get a refund on my order ?

Just send us an email to shop@honeyrosebakery.com quoting your order number, and a brief description of the issue. We need that to make sure we correct anything we may have missed for the future. We’ll make sure you are satisfied, and if you feel it is necessary, we will issue a refund.

How can I contact you to let you know there is a problem with my order ?

I am on your online store, and see a PayPal logo in my window – why ?

When we developed our online shop, we selected Paypal, the world’s largest and most secure payment processor, for our online web purchases. You can choose to pay via credit card, or by using your PayPal account. It also has the most reasonable rates which ensures we can pass on those savings to you.

Can I pay with my credit card ?

Yes, of course. Just follow these simple steps:

Once you have completed selecting your products, simply go to your Shopping Cart and click on “Proceed to Checkout”. You will be taken to a screen similar to the one below (this is an example below; obviously your own order info will appear).

Step 1: Click on the “Continue” link (circled in red), and ignore the right part of the screen with PayPal login information.

Step 2:  You will be taken to the “Pay With Credit Car of Log in” screen, as per below. Again, ignore the PayPal login options on the right hand side of the screen and complete only the left-hand side with your credit card information. In the example below the “Visa/Delta/Electron” has been selected:

The overall payment type choices are: Visa/Delta/Electron; Mastercard/Eurocard; American Express; Switch/Maestro; Solo.

If you have a PayPal account and would rather use that, that is also fine; simply follow the above steps but ignore the left hand side of the screen and log ito PayPal with your Email and password.

PayPal is not accepting my credit card for payment ?

As long as it is a major credit or debit card (Visa/Delta/Electron; Mastercard/Eurocard; American Express; Switch/Maestro; Solo) then it will work. By default PayPal will expect you to pay with your PayPal account if you have an existing PayPal account (i.e. if it recognizes the credit card and email you enter as being registered to a PayPal account). So just make sure the credit card and the email address you are using has not been registered to a PayPal account before.

Do I have to have a PayPal account to pay ?

Heck no you don’t. You can pay directly with your credit card and bypass opening a PayPal account. It will simply ask you to securely enter your credit card information for payment and you’re done, per the steps above.
